This is due to the presence of microbial cysts, chlorine, Class I particulates, mercury, and lead. This filter makes use of activated carbon to remove these undesirable elements, and it is good for six months with normal use.
The Sylvia Replacement DA29-00003G Filter is compatible with certain French door or side-by-side refrigerator models of Samsung that uses a short, round filter (check your old filter for these designations: DA29-00003A, B, D and F, and HAFCU1).
The Sylvia Replacement DA29-00003G Filter retains the fluoride, but removes the chlorine odor and taste, heavy metals such as asbestos, lead, benzene, carbofuran, and mercury. It also takes out the cryptosporidium or other microbial parasites that are common to freshwater rivers and lakes and may survive treatment with chlorine.
